The straight centre-to-centre distance between adjacent holes is the chord: PCD × sin(180° ÷ number of holes). For six holes on a 100 mm PCD that is 100 × sin(30°) = 50 mm exactly. The arc pitch, measured round the circle rather than across it, is π × PCD ÷ number of holes.
Measure the centre distance between two adjacent holes, count the holes on the circle, and work backwards: PCD = chord ÷ sin(180° ÷ number of holes). The "work back from a measurement" panel on this page does it for you.
As a working rule the web between adjacent holes should be at least twice the material thickness for piercing. Below that the punch is prone to breakage and the strip to distortion. This calculator flags the web against your thickness if you enter one.
